Mellisa Carney-Getzie, CLI Class of 2004 and guest speaker in 2009, has asked us to share information on the Community Action Committee of Cape Cod & Islands' upcoming Costume Ball Fundraiser. This third annual fundraiser is being held on Friday, October 23rd, at 10:00 PM at the Sandwich Taverna to benefit "Missie's Closet." Click here for more detailed information.
CACCCI has been a great supporter of CLI. In addition to Mellisa, other CLI grads from the organization are Cheryl Bartlett, CLI Class of 1998, Terry Lavery, CLI Class of 2003, Robyn Simmons, CLI Class of 2006, and Missy Clements, CLI Class of 2009.
Lets show CACCCI as much support as they have shown CLI with a great CLI Alumni turnout!
The Sandwich Chamber of Commerce honored town volunteers, employees, and businesses at its recent meeting at the Danl Webster Inn.
Chris Bailey, CLI Class of 2006 and current CLI Board Member, received the Merrell Award for Volunteerism. Health Agent, Dave Mason, CLI Class of 2009, won the public servant of the year award.
Congratulations to both Chris and Dave.
From CLI Alum, Deborah Battles:
OVERLOADED??? NEED SOME HELP??? FREE CAREER TRAINING INTERNS AVAILABLE!
The Cape Cod Community College Career Training Program located at the Hyannis Adult Learning Center is seeking on the job training Internship sites at Human Service & Health related agencies on Cape Cod. Each term we have an intensive 8 week training to prepare adult participants to re-enter the workforce. When they complete their training (Computer Skills, Communications, Customer Service, Health/Office, Business Math, Business English, Community Resources & Career Exploration), we try to provide them with a short-term Internship opportunity in the community. Beginning the week of March 23rd, we will have several participants selected for this volunteer opportunity. The placement can be as short as a week or as long as a month for any hours that you and the participant negotiate. If you have some needs in your agency such as typing, filing, answering calls or rainy day projects that you have been putting off and would like to give someone a chance to get back out into the job market and flex their skills PLEASE contact Deb Battles at 508-375-5008!

It is with great sadness that we report that Adrienne "Aday" Burke, CLI Class of 2007, recently passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Her smile and personality were infectious, and anyone who met her was truly blessed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her husband, Doug Burke, CLI Class of 2006, and their family.
